Erawan Shrine 四面佛

Erawan Shrine 四面佛 is a famous tourist spot located in central Bangkok, Thailand.

It is a Hindu shrine that houses a statue of Phra Phrom, the Thai representation of the Hindu creation god Brahmā.

It is very popular among the Chinese tourists from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and in the surrounding areas.

Worshipers of Phra Phrom usually offer incense, candles, jasmine flowers or jasmine garlands and young coconut milk (with water in them) in their worship.

Offerings are usually placed before all four heads of Phra Phrom, each head representing a different aspect of the deity.

It is believed each side of Phra Phrom offers different blessings

Erawan Shrine 四面佛 can also be found in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.   In the U.S. it is on displayed on the balcony of the "Hong Kong Flower Lounge Restaurant" in Millbrae, California.

The largest and most famous shrine to Hindu god Brahmā 四面佛 is in Cambodia's Angkor Wat.   Dozens of Brahmā's temples can be found all over Asia.

Phra Phrom is also known to admire Thai classical music, which is played near larger scale outdoor altars, accompanied by dancers.   Click this picture for a video of the dance.
